By Stormy the Dog
I went to a new enclosed dog field on a very wet Sunday with my family, my best friend Mya, and her dad. It wasn’t very far in the car, so I didn’t have to squeak with excitement for too long. The field hasn’t been open long, so it was difficult to get a slot. I heard Mum and Mya’s dad discussing how they could only get a 4 p.m. slot and whether it would be too dark.
This place is huge, and I was so excited to explore everywhere! It was a bit tricky to find — Mum said it wasn’t where she thought it was; blink and you’d miss it on the bypass. It’s all fenced in and has a wooded area, which was good in the rain for some shelter, an obstacle course, and a pond, which I loved going in even though I was already soaked.
There are seats for humans by the pond, and if you get stuck in the water, there’s a big sloped area to help you get out. Mya and I had a lovely time sniffing, swimming, and running. They even had a tyre swing, which I thought was a giant chew toy!
It’s well worth a visit for dogs that don’t come back when they’re called — I’m a good boy, of course. It cost Mum £13.00 for 50 minutes. There’s a parking area for around four cars, and you can take up to four dogs. Book well in advance, as slots go quickly.
