The storied Central Hall in Westminster, London played host to Candlelight: Hans Zimmer’s Best Works on 22nd November 2025. Indeed, the venues high ceilings and glowing dome created a cosy yet pleasantly lively ambience. Hans Zimmer continues to compose soundtracks for blockbuster productions and one can see why with such effortless transitions in the sounds, beats and melody of his instrumentals.
The Candlelight theme is immediately striking upon taking your seats as a plethora of candles are placed in a staircase fashion surrounding the musicians and instrumentalists who feed off such energy.
The Introduction to the night’s proceedings and the explanations between tunes by the violinist were both humorous and enchanting, which enabled continuous audience engagement over the 60 minutes performance. There were four performers on stage (String Quartet – City String Ensemble) and they all complemented each other’s musical talents through seamless composition.
The following soundtracks featured in the evening’s performance:
- Time from Inception
- This Land from The Lion King
- Zooster’s Breakout from Madagascar
- Supermarine from Dunkirk
- Honor from The Pacific
