One Saturday my family and I went to Bodiam Castle in Bodiam.
The day that we went, over by the pill box there was a WW2 stand with loads of historical items including an old car. And someone was even dressed in an old army suit.
In the Reception you can get a free map.
It was fun watching the giant fish pop up from the water in the moat as we crossed the bridge.
I could also see a bright orange one swimming around when we were at the top of one of the
towers.
The views from the top of the towers are spectacular and although some areas are closed, you can still explore the whole castle and the grounds in over an hour.
There are normally things like dress up and small games in the centre of the castle.
In the summer there are fun events like archery that go on by the castle.
There is also a small café with ice cream and benches up by the castle with a couple of games in a room next to it.
The café is a great place to eat for vegans as well as non-vegans as they have many tasty options such as vegan scones and sausage baps.
Bodiam Castle is right in the countryside next to the Kent and East Sussex Railway and the Rother River.
