Festival of Trees

By Isabella Schembri-Adams

Every year we look forward to visiting Holy Cross Church in Uckfield for the annual Festival of Christmas trees.

It’s become a tradition for us.

The Festival runs from Friday to Sunday at the start of December starting on Uckfield late night shopping evening.

We love Christmas trees and seeing a whole church full of over 100 of them all lit up is a sight to behold.

The smell is amazing too.

This year there were 120 all decorated by local businesses, schools and charities.

There is also a tree of angels where you can write a message to loved ones that are no longer with us on a paper angel and hang it from the tree.

Entry is free and they have a food stall and entertainment.

Donations go to the church.

We visit on the last day and stay for the carol service which is truly Christmassy amongst the trees.

I would definitely recommend  a visit next year.
