The Waterway Restaurant in Maida Vale London was the setting for LoveHolidays Taste of Travel in 2025 event. The TV Chef, Sam Way (@Sameats) curated the evening’s proceedings with regional and collaborative culinary delights based on Mediterranean and North African cuisine, having recently visited Morocco. Furthermore, the menu created was also a representation of LoveHolidays trending short-haul holiday destinations for 2025, which was reflected in bookings made via them in January 2025.
The event started with punchy cocktails whilst taking in the views of the Grand Union Canal in the backdrop of the venue. Hence, Waterway was voted the best terrace restaurant in London.
There were seven courses on offer throughout the dining experience. It started with a Sourdough Focaccia with sumptuous Medjool Date Butter, making this a fusion of Italian and Moroccan flavours.

Thereafter, a Sea Bream Crudo was next on the culinary excursion. Indeed, this dish will no doubt be further devoured as 2025 unfolds with bookings to Italy via LoveHolidays already up by 43% year on year! This was followed by Sous Vide Cod with Hollandaise sauce and Shoestring Fries. Trivia – Portugal is the biggest consumer of Cod in the world!

The Spanish Canary Islands was the next stop, when it was time to savour Cucumber Gazpacho. Let’s just say – this would make for the perfect breakfast smoothie! Its glorious green tanginess leaves you wanting more by the Sky Blue Atlantic Coastline surrounding the region.

Skewers of Chicken Souvlaki complemented with Tzatziki and Pitta bread were served with an excellent kick to them, that could have resulted in limitless consumption, such was this delectable delicate delight!

The evening rounded off with Iberico Pluma (Ham) and a Mint Sorbet with a Moroccan feel to it. In summary, LoveHolidays brought together a love for food and travel in a cosy setting. The data of holidays booked across the said regions is only heading for an uplifting upward surge!
