Sussex Charity Comes Together to Celebrate a Special 12 Months

In the party mood

Around 100 supporters of a Sussex-wide charity came together in Eastbourne for its annual dinner.

SASBAH – Sussex Association of Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus – supports more than 1,000 people affected by disability across the county.

Chairman Tim McDermott-Roe from Burgess Hill thanked everyone involved with the charity – staff, supporters and volunteers – for helping to make a difference to so many people’s lives.

Tim and Christine

His devoted wife Christine received a SASBAH Star Award from Chief Executive Officer Rom Sanglaji for her valuable and ongoing support.

Rom told the gathering at The View Hotel on Eastbourne seafront: “We are privileged to all be involved in such a caring, friendly and highly impactful charity.

“Tim and his fellow Trustees provide valuable support, and I also know the amount of work and commitment that Christine provides in the background. That support is invaluable.”

It wasn’t a fundraising dinner but a chance for some of the SASBAH family to come together in a fun environment.

Special thanks to Helen Ward-Jackson, Steve Tropical roadshow and the Ohh La La’s for providing the evening’s entertainment.

The charity moved into new offices at Church Street, Old Town, Eastbourne 18 months ago. They are always looking any new volunteers to get in touch – contact rom@sasbah.org.uk or call Rom on 07779038542.
