The entertainment group Pjazza Teatru Rjal (Royal Theatre Square) has launched its artistic programme for the coming 2025 Summer Season as a guidance to forthcoming foreign visitors for this season – as well as national followers of course!
The Malta Concert Orchestra will be the major perpetrator of events and one can expect artistic performances of high calibre in various locations.

The season will open on 19th May with Wonders of the Mind, an evening of magic conducted by one of the best Maltese renowned illusionist Vanni Pulé in the Pjazza Teatru Rjal Green Room where, following last year’s great success, on 30th and 31st May there will be the third edition of Buskerfest, with two sessions packed with talents and normally performed in public streets in Valletta.

The Malta Concert Orchestra will be a backbone of a great number of performances and will present a number of performances throughout to bridge the gaps between the entertainments of invited performers.

Pjazza Teatru Rjal is proud to host all these events by accomplished musicians and performers. Although difficult to forecast what and how they will perform – that is all part of the expectations!
The Malta Concert Orchestra itself, this year has much to offer. Its first appointment will be on 20th June with a rendering of Noche Latina, a spectacle of Latin music under the direction of maestro Ryan Paul Abela.
On 11th July, the Orchestra will perform Baroque Fantasy, an evening of baroque music combined with rock instruments – indeed a unique presentation which will be under the direction of Italian maestro Maurizio Colasanti.
Then, on 25th July the Malta Concert Orchestra will be under the direction of maestro Matthew Bugeja will devote an ABBA Tribute to the legendary Swedish group ABBA.
In complete contrast, maestro Dario Salvi will on 8th August conduct the Malta Concert Orchestra in an extravagance of Neapolitan music and all its boisterous glamour and will include O Surdato Nnamurato, O Sole Mio, Funiculì Funiculà, Granada, Core ’Ngrato, Arrivederci Roma – all of which reflect the colour of Naples.

Later in the month, the Pjazza Teatru Rjal will host the Italian iconic pop star PUPO who will accompany the Malta Concert Orchestra under the guidance of musician Joe Brown. This will be in three sessions on 21, 22 and 23 August and Notte Italiana con PUPO will inaugurate his world tour to mark his Golden Jubilee since his debut in 1974.

In September there will be two final performances by the Malta Concert Orchestra on 12th September under the direction of maestro Raymond Zammit to commemorate 80’s Night and big successes nights like Africa, One Moment in Time, Radio Gaga, Rocket Man, and All Night Long and a wealth of others.
The 26th September will see the return of maestro Joe Brown to conduct the orchestra in A Night at the Movies and classic themes like Pretty Woman, An Officer and a Gentleman, and Dirty Dancing and more recent blockbusters like Aladdin, Frozen and Zootopia.
Indeed, an upcoming bonanza of music and entertainment for the locals and all visiting tourists who just love the Sound of Music!
