Fancy some Funghi?

As autumn approaches, the countryside changes and mushrooms and funghi of all shapes and sizes can be seen decorating woods, fields and verges. They are a fascinating subject for photography.

Here are just a few of the different species I have found whilst on my walks.

I have refrained from trying to name those in my pictures in order to avoid giving unreliable information.

Care must always be taken with funghi; it is all too easy to mistake one variety for another. There are a lot of edible varieties, but unless you are 100% certain of the identity of any you find, they should not be handled or eaten as there are many very poisonous varieties

Enjoy searching for them when you are out and about, but please just look, and avoid handling or damaging them.
