Cars at the Castle: June’s Classic Cars Event at Hever Castle

As the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, set in the most gorgeous grounds with history permeating every inch, Hever Castle in Kent is already an abundantly attractive place to visit.

Despite this, the team responsible for ensuring plenty of public appeal are constantly launching more reasons to diarise a visit.

As regular readers know, we frequently advise you of forthcoming events and mid-June sees another that’s bound to have wide appeal.

‘Cars at the Castle’ on 13 and 14 June is a weekend celebration of classic and historic vehicles in the grounds, with the stunning backdrop of Hever Castle that’ll make for some memorable sights.

As well as viewing these well-cared for vehicles that will include MG’s, Mini’s, Jaguars and more.  The owners will no doubt be delighted to take you through every nut and bolt of the restoration process.

The renowned automobile historian, Graham Pilgrim will be in attendance, too.

In the spirit of “something for every age” that Hever always does very well, there’ll be face painting, playgrounds, mazes, memorabilia stalls and, of course, the beautiful gardens to explore.

In the Castle forecourt, children will be able to take a ride on a genuine Austin J40 pedal car, negotiating period road signs and Belisha beacons.

With Father’s Day on 21 June, it might be the ideal early gift for the Daddy or Grandaddy of the family (giving us girlies an excuse for the visit).
