I’m delighted to say that our Journalist and Writer Seren’s latest book is now released.
Food Historian and Award-Winning Chef Seren Charrington’s latest book, ‘The History of Ice Cream’ tells a distinctly British story of the icy delight and features some historic recipes.
This delightful book features a unique insight into the rise and fall of the ice cream van and the impulse lines we loved and lost. Beautifully illustrated with ice cream advertising and packaging from the authors own collection, this book contains some scarce early advertising alongside some images of retro packaging that is bound to stir up nostalgia.
Through a fascinating mix of food politics, history and culinary detective work, Seren uncovers the history of ice cream. Illustrated with archive material and historic photographs of ice cream eaters and makers, this book tells the remarkable tale of how ice cream rose to popularity, charting its journey to become the much-loved food it is today.
A book launch will take place on Thursday 14th May 2026 at 6:30pm at the Andrew Logan Museum of Sculpture, Berriew. SY21 8AH You are invited to join Seren for an ice cream inspired drinks reception, talk and ice cream making demonstration.
