My garden mostly has to thrive on neglect…… at this time of year, it is either too hot to be out gardening in the sun, or too rainy to be in the garden. If I catch a few moments at dawn or dusk when it is cooler that is a lot !!
I wrote about preparing my garden earlier in the year and wanted to show you how it is coming along.
As you can see, I cleared two places one for comfrey and one for marigolds and peppers.

All grown from seeds. The marigolds have thrived and popped up all over the garden, even by the side of the house as you see above – the seeds must have scattered from last year as they are in places I didn’t know they should be !
I planted them to keep pests away from the peppers, and they have just taken over !

The pepper seedlings were planted out, but only about half a dozen have thrived, and in the last couple of days, the flowers have gone, so maybe some peppers are on the way who knows ?

The comfrey that arrived as leaves, was planted and is now 4 thriving plants amongst the other ‘weeds’ which I am thrilled about. I have used comfrey in the past for mending broken ankles and wrists as its’ other name is Knitbone.

It is turning to autumn now, so the flowers will turn to seeds which I shall save for next year and maybe find marigolds in more unexpected places !!
