Morning in Africa
I am not a happy pre travel person.
For the last 20 years I have spent most Summers in the UK visiting family and doing Concerts around Europe.
I love being here, and I love being there, it’s the weeks just before the flights that absolutely floor me !! My son is convinced there is a little demon inside me that feeds of my pre flight nerves xx
As I type my stomach is churning like a washing machine despite the fact that I am already doped up on Rescue Remedy !!
Mind you this time it has only been a few days – usually it’s at least 2 weeks, when I have to say to my family that nothing I say may be taken down in evidence !!
They have learned to take it in their stride thank goodness, and when they speak, tease each other about “Mother’s nerves”.
These butterflies are with me until the last red tape at the airport, and then, from the moment I am on the plane, they disappear.

It is totally unreasoned, as nothing has ever gone wrong, and all is well when I am delighted to be greeted with smiles and hugs when I land.
I am sure I am not alone in this. Passing through airports I have often had occasion to reassure other people and direct them to the places they need to be.
2 days later …….
Well I needn’t have worried, it seems that the carrier pigeon service is still running.
The other airline !
Well, what an adventure. Both flights delayed, but all the people absolutely charming.
It’s good to be back on my native soil.
First morning in England.

Will keep you up to date on my travels.
