Some days just driving through green pastures is enough to fill your soul.
Tina and I visited Hugh Taylor at his home and recording studio in Monaive, and we went back to Ayr on a perfect emerald green fields, azure sky adorned with pure white fluffy clouds long Summer evening.
We had time ( for a change ) so I asked her to stop a few times on the way to take photos of the beautiful landscapes that we were passing by. Sometimes the passers by are being watched by the grazers !!

Usually on a drive like this, we are rushing to or from a gig, but this time there was time to ‘smell the roses’ and enjoy the overwhelming peace that such environments bring.

Every now and then we are reminded that these hills also hold memories of a darker nature, like this memorial cairn on the crossroads.

But the overwhelming feeling of wide open spaces and a pastoral life is enough to restore the hardest heart, and after we had visited Loch Doon, which was a bit off the beaten track, but it was worth it.
